Street circuits are really fun to drive but they can be very chaotic as well and Baku has proved it today after the qualifying session. With 14 minutes left with Q1 Lance Stroll locks up and crashes in turn 15 causing a red flag.
The session restarted only to end with another red flag at 9:22 when Giovanazzi crashed in turn 15.
Yet another victim on turn 15, his session came to a stop as he will be starting from P19 followed by Lance Stroll in P20. The session ended with the last 5 GIO, STR, MAZ, MSC & LAT out of Q1.
Q2 was a decent session, well for a few. With only 1:29 minutes to go Daniel Ricciardo crashed in turn 3 causing a red flag with the session coming to an end leaving him in P13
Q3 was a bit quick. Everything was going great. Hamilton managed to secure P2 with Verstappen in P3 and Charles in P1. With only 5 seconds to go Yuki crashed into turn 15.
With a few milliseconds, Carlos Sainz crashed in the escape road of turn 15. Two crashed caused a red flag giving Charles his pole position in Baku.
Anything can happen in F1 as we all witnessed in this very chaotic quali. Let us see what tomorrow brings.
