All F1 fans always love the silly season but this year it took an unexpected turn when all team principals started to change teams.

Earlier this month, Scuderia Ferrari released a team statement about Mattia Binotto stepping down as the team principal.

Binotto has been a part of Ferrari since 1995 when he joined as an engine engineer for the test team. Since then he has risen up the ladder and was appointed as the Team principal in 2017 till 2022.

“With the regret that this entails, I have decided to conclude my collaboration with Ferrari. I am leaving a company that I love, which I have been part of for 28 years, with the serenity that comes from the convinction that I have made every effort to achieve the objectives set. I leave a united and growing team."

A few days following his statement, Alfa Romeo released a statement about Fred Vasseur stepping down as their team principal. A few after this breaking news release, Ferrari released a statement saying Fred Vasseur will be taking up the Team Principal position following Binotto's exit.

“I am truly delighted and honoured to take over the leadership of Scuderia Ferrari as Team Principal. As someone who has always held a lifelong passion for motorsport, Ferrari has always represented the very pinnacle of the racing world to me. I look forward to working with the talented and truly passionate team in Maranello to honour the history and heritage of the Scuderia and deliver for our Tifosi around the world”.

Then it was Williams's turn, team stated that Jos Capito will be stepping down as the team principal by the end of 2022. Mclaren stated that Andreas Seidl will be stepping down from his position as well and will be replaced by Andrea Stella. Seidl then later shared that he will be joining Audi as their CEO starting in 2023.

This has to be the most chaotic silly season in F1's history. All in all, teams are entering into a new ear where they can bring more changes and try to compete for the championship.
