Ferrari's pain, RedBull's pleasure and a McLaren Surprise

It is finally race day here in Imola. It had been raining since morning but stopped right before the lights out. The track still wet and all cars on inters.

Lap 1 Max got a very good start, unlike Charles who had a delay in reaction which costed him dearly. He ended up in P4 before turn one. Not the ideal start for the Ferrari.

To make matters even worse, Carlos Sainz and Daniel Ricciardo had a collision. Both into the gravel but Danny Ric managed to get out onto the track while Sainz had to retire. His race was over even before the first lap was halfway through. Safety car deployed.

Lap 5 of 63 and we are racing again.

Lap 7 Fernando Alonso had to retire from the race as a part of his sidepod fell onto the track, damage he picked up with contact with Mick during the lap 1 chaos.

Lap 19 of 63, as the track starts to dry, all ars come into the pits and change into medium tyres. These pitstops were nothing but pure chaos. Esteban Ocon got a 5 second time penalty for an unsafe release in the pits and causing a light collision with Hamilton.

Finally, after 34 laps, DRS was enabled.

An "ouch" moment for Lewis at lap 41 when blue flags were waved at him as Max lapped him.

Lap 50 of 63, Charles in P3 pits for softs to get that extra one point for the fastest lap in the race.

Lap 54 of 63, Charles almost under a second to close the gap to Checo when he went a little deep into the chicane and straight into the barriers. He damaged his front wing but managed to limp back to the pits.

That one mistake cost Leclerc dearly, as he exited the pits he was in P9.

Lap 63 of 63, was a one-two for Redbull and P3 for Lando Norris.

Great news for Aston Martin as SV finished P8 & Lance in P10.
