The most awaited season with new cars, new regulations and of course new drivers. Zhou Guanyu, rookie of the 2022 season is driving for Alfa Romeo. Alex Albon driving for Williams.
Kevin Magnussen is back for Haas, replacing Nikita Mazepin after he was sacked by Haas a few weeks ago. Nico Hulkenberg is back for the first GP taking Sebastian Vettel's place after Vettel got tested positive for Covid-19.

Green lights for FP1, Charles out of the pits first, followed by Bottas and Hulkenberg.
After the first warm-up lap, Bottas went straight into the pits as he had massive misfiring from his new Alfa Romeo. Eight minutes into the session and there was a red flag caused by Esteban Ocon. His side pod overs ripped right out of his pink Alpine.
The team immediately changed his side pods and for precaution, taped Fernando's side pods as well.
After a few couple of minutes, the session resumed and all cars rushed out of the pitlane to put in their best times.
Charles Leclerc, momentarily caused a yellow flag when he had a 360-degree spin but had no damage to his Ferrari.
The first session went smoothly. 19 drivers set their best times on the track except for Bottas who didn't set any time.
At the end of the session, it was Gasly who set the fastest time. He was followed by Charles and Carlos. Both Ferraris locking the front row.
