Formula one is back in the hot and sunny Barcelona.

It is time for the Spanish Grand Prix here at the Circuit de Catalunya. Two Spanish drivers on the grid, one a two-time world champion, Fernando Alonso and another one who is yet to take his first win, Carlos Sainz. This weekend, all eyes are on Sainz, as a Spaniard has a winning/ championship-winning car. This is a crucial weekend for him, as winning his home race with Ferrari is essential.

It FP sessions in the blazing hot Barcelona. FP1 session had three new faces, Robert Kubica testing for Alfa Romeo, Juri Vips testing for RedBull and Nyck De Fries testing for Williams. Nevertheless, to say, all three drivers had a wonderful session especially Nyck and Juri since this is their first time in an F1 car.

FP1 session was topped by Charles followed by his teammate Sainz then followed by Verstappen.

FP2 session took a strange turn when Bottas pulled over at turn 1 and triggered a virtual safety car. Reports suggest that he had some issue with his engine.

Bottas who is on already on his second Ferrari engine this season to an early end.

Meanwhile, in the McLaren Garage, Lando was missing a floor. Lando when went over the gravel and damaged his floor.

The team had to remove the old floor and attach a new one but he did not continue with the session. Lando is running with new updates while the team decided to run Daniel in the o;d car to gather some qualifying data.

Some interesting comments were passed in the paddock after seeing the new upgrades made on the Aston Martin.

Aston looking very similar to the RedBull. But the FIA declared that the upgrades by AM are fully legal. But Christain Horner and others thought otherwise.

FP2 session was topped by Charles in P1, George in P2 and Hamilton in P3. Good session for Mercedes indeed.
