Grid penalties, wet Montreal and Flying Fernando

It was wet qualifying for the 2022 Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal. It track was so wet that all cars went ahead with wet tires. With low visibility and high chances of slipping into the grass and crashing, all 20 cars were out on track.

Charles and Yuki got new engines for this weekend which both will be starting at the back of the grid.

Q1 was dramatic for the Aston Martin fans as both cars got eliminated in q1 even though Vettel topped the charts in FP3. It was a disappointing qualifying for our hometown heroes, Lance Stroll and Nicholas Latifi, as they were out in Q1.

Charles Leclerc did not participate in Q2, knowing his grid penalties. Alex Albon spun and went into the barriers but managed to turn his car around and get going. A red flag was caused by Checo when he spun and crash into the barriers ending his qualifying session. A very disappointed Checo was seen walking back to the Redbull garage.

Q3 was rather dramatic as the top 10 cars tried to get the best grid position for the race. As the rain stops and George Russell puts on slicks but he immediately spun around and clips his rear wing.

Qualifying came to a dramatic end with Max taking the pole and Fernando Alonso taking P2 for Alpine. A very good session for him and the team following his was Carlos Sainz in P3.

A fantastic session for Haas as both the cars made into Q3 with KMag in P5 and young MSC in P6.

By the looks of the grid and the possibility of rain, it is going to ve a very interesting race in Montreal.
