Maiden Pole, Goatifi and slippery Silverstone

Typical Silverstone weather. One moment it was sunny and in a blink of an eye, it started pouring down. It was a wet qualifying session in Silverstone for the BristishGrand Prix 2022.

Not the dramatic qualifying that all expected. At the end of Q1, both the Haas and Aston Martian were out of qualifying along with Alex Albon, who for the first time this season was out-qualified by his teammate, Nicholas Latifi. Latifi made his first Q2 appearance in this season.

It started to pour down, during the Q2 session, which made it difficult for most of the drivers to set a time. With visibility zero to none, all 15 cars tried to put in their best time hoping to make it to Q3. Gasly, Bottas, Daniel, Yuki and Esteban were knocked out of Q2.

In the final moments of Q3, Carlos Sainz took the pole while Max Verstappen secured P2 spitting both the Ferrari with Charles in P3. It is Carlos Sainz's maiden pole in Formula One and what a well-deserved pole it is. If Ferrari played their cards right, they would end up with a Ferrari 1-2 for tomorrow. Meanwhile, Goatifi {the internet slang for Latifi} had his best ever qualifying session as he secured P10. It sure is a season for celebration down at the Williams garage.

So many opportunities tomorrow. Anything can happen. It is Silverstone after all.
