McLaren took 1-2 in the Italian Grand Prix. Daniel Ricciardo who moved to McLaren this season had a horrible start of the season. But the tables turned during the Italian GP when he took P3 in the sprint alongside Max in P1 and his teammate, Lando in P3. Success guaranteed for Danny and Lando with them in the front grid.
It was lights out and away they went. Danny Ric when ahead of Max in turn one. Lando managed to hold Lewis behind him as well.
Everything was going great until Max and Lewis crash and both the championship contenders were out of the race. This was the turning point for McLaren. Danny took the lead of the GP followed by his teammate Lando. Bottas started P20 in spite of winning the sprint. Climbed his way back to the top and secured P3 for Mercedes.
It was the first win for Danny Ric since Monaco 2018. First 1-2 finish for McLaren since 2012. Lando Norris's first 2nd place win. Danny managed to secure the fastest lap, driver of the day and DHL fastest pitstop.
Big big big day for McLaren. Hoping to see more McLaren podiums in the future.
