The final race of the 2022 season took place at the Yas Marina circuit on Sunday. Red Bull who were on a front-row lockout got an excellent start. Along with both Ferraris and Mercedes Behind them. Lewis and Carlos had contact right at turn 6 which sent Lewis flying into turn 7. Both of them did not get any penalties for it.
George Russell had a slow pitstop of about 11 seconds. The right rear tyres were slow to go on.
But Mercedes green lit an unsafe release for George which in turn affected Lando had was about to stop at his pit box and he had the slam his brake from colliding with George. George received 5 second-time penalty which he later served during his second with a pitstop
Meanwhile, Hamilton was complaining about his Mercedes turn out that small contact with the kerb caused floor damage to his car, in spite of the damage he kept going on and challenging his teammate.
Sebastian Vettel was stuck in an Alpine sandwich, as promised Alonso was behind Vettel the whole time until lap 28 as Fernando had to retire the car due to a water leak issue. His last race with Apline came to a painful end. Aston Martin messed hadVettel's last race by getting the strategy very wrong. But somehow Vettel managed to drag his Aston to the final points position getting came final F1 point of his career.
A yellow flag was thrown in lap 58 when Mick made contact with Latifi which sent both of them spinning and Latifi into the barriers but both resumed their races. While Mick was handed in a 5-second time penalty, Latifi had to retire his car. His last race for Williams came to an end.
Lap 56, Lewis had to retire the car due to the damage. Our hopes for Seb's last doughnuts disappeared. Daniel Ricciardo's race came to a painful end as a finished outside of points.
In the front, the fight was P2 for the world championship was on.
But Charles was faster than Checo and became the runner-up for this season's championship.
