The Dutch Lion, yellow flags and almost pole position

The air is orange here at Zandvoort. The grandstands are filled with nothing but orange as all the fans here are to support the only one Max Verstappen.

Max gave his fans what they deserved. He got pole in his home soil in front of his Dutch\Orange army.

Qualifying was a very tight session during the Dutch GP this season. There were drivers going off the track into the gravel. Sebastian Vettel went straight into the gravel trap which ruined his qualifying and qualified P19. Later in an interview via Sky Germany, he said that there was a lot of dust in front of him, his vision was compromised, and he couldn't see clearly ahead him. Meanwhile, it was a disastrous day for Daniel Ricciardo, he qualified only P17 while Lando Norris made it into Q3. This is not the first time Daniel has been out-qualified by his teammate. A very worse weekend for him after all the piastre to Mclaren drama.

Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso's qualifying ended in Q2 as they got stuck in traffic. Both Alpines are out in Q2. They need to do a lot of overtakes if they want to stay ahead of McLaren in the contractors.

Max set the fastest time in Q2 but Charles Leclerc managed to beat his to get provisional pole position going into Q3. But somehow that RedBull got some extra paced and clenched provisional pole but he had other 9 cars behind him. But, a yellow flag denied Carlos or Mercedes that possible pole position. Checo spun around and caused a yellow flag which messed up others' flying lap ad Max ended up getting his pole. A solid lap from Charles as he was only 0.0021 seconds behind him. So close yet so far away.

Can Max convert his pole into a win, or will someone else take the lead at turn 1 or someone completely different from the top three will win the race? Guess we have to wait and find out.
