Free Practice 1, 2, 3
FP1
Beautiful day in Budapest for FP1 & FP2. FP1 was topped by the classic VER, HAM, BOT. But sad news for the Yuki as he spun out in turn 4 and caused a red flag which halted the session briefly.
FP2
Sad news from the Alpha Tauri garage as the crew fixes Yuki's car. He sits and waits for his car. But he managed to get off for one flying lap before FP2 ended. FP 2 was topped by the same trio but in a different order, BOT, HAM, VER.
FP3
Great start by all the drivers, as went on their flying laps. Halfway through the session Mick crashed and caused a red flag. He suffered from over 30 G but was cleared from the medical centre. His Haas did have some damage. A change in gearbox gave Mick an instant 5 place grid penalty. FP3 was topped by HAM, VER, BOT.

QUALIFYING
Sunny day at the Hungaroring. All cars out on track fighting for pole. Sad news for Mick as he did not take part in qualifying due to the damage from FP3. As Q1 comes to an end the last five to get knocked out were, MSC, MAZ, LAT, RUS, TSU.

Q2 took a brisk start. All cars on track and on flying laps as the track temperature rises.
With only 6 minutes to go, Carlos Sainz crashes in the final corner damaging his front wing. He managed to keep the car running and tried to come into the pits but was unable to do so as his front wing was caught under his front tires.

He had to wall his walk through the pits before the medical car picked him up. The incident caused a red flag and the session was stopped. As the session resumed, it was the file for pole. Max behind Lewis trying to take the pole from him.

As the session is about to end and the chequered flag is out, Bottas, Lewis and Max miss the flag and go for another flying lap but others who were behind them were stuck in traffic and didn't get an opportunity to fight for pole. Lewis Hamilton takes his 101 pole position of his career followed by his teammate Bottas who was followed by a very disappointed Max.
